A-kon 16Late start getting there, clouds of fanboy stink, insanely clogged elevators with 20 and 30 minute waits to get into said congested box, not enough things to do, amazing company to do all that nothing with.
The dealers' room was...dissapointing, I think. There were things I would have bought...had they not been overpriced and had every other person there not already purchased and adorned said things. Shirts, patches, bags, etc. Nothing was worth it except perhaps some manga and dvds...which I can get anywhere, and therefore did not purchase there.
I'll use a comparison I used internally when we were actually there -- consider Hot Topic. It's over-priced, over-trendy, and very few things in there are actually even worth consideration. At different Hot Topic locations, you can attain certain different shirts and certain different various small items, but each one is generally the same. Also, nearly everyone you see everywhere you go clearly supports aforementioned franchise, because it's all over them. And it was overpriced. So...it kind of sucked. I was even sad with the jrock booth...I illegally pirate my music anyway, but I might have bought a DeG CD or two, had they not sold out before we even got to the con o_O. No good posters, either. Or maybe those sold out, too. Lots of cheap items-as in, shit toys (at crazy prices, too). Some shirts were cool, but I can make my own. Or they just weren't worth 20 dollars.
It was a lot of fun, though, the convention, because I was with people I love (and I got to meet Fireball! Shameless plug: [link] ). Mm hmm. We had some minor arguments...the most memorable on Saturday night, though we handled it with maturity that surprised me...but perhaps shouldn't have, because we've come a long way (and learned to listen much better than we did in our first "adult" settling conversation way back when.)
Overall it was good. No good music, didn't get to see Misfits of Comedy...fucking elevators... but I had a lot of fun. It's good to be home, though.
Got up early today (7.00) to go to Tyler with Dad. Am sleep-deprived. Nothing else to report that I can call to mind immediately, so....(lazy italian accent) ciao.
